Movie night, SGM, news

Thank you to all members who supported this fund raising venture. The Downhill Ski Club appreciates the work that the Ryder’s Cinema and Restaurant put in, to make this a very enjoyable evening. A special “thank you” also, to Snow Planet and The Snow Centre for sponsoring such generous prizes for the raffles. On the night, almost $250.00 profit was raised from ticket sales and raffles.
This second (and last) dinner and movie night, was particularly poignant. Having shared so many good times in past seasons, it may have been the last time we all see each other.

Both motions that were put to the members at the Special General Meeting, were carried.
After a minimum period of 30 days, a second SGM will be needed to ratify those motions, and will be signalled in a separate newsletter.

The committee is in ongoing discussion with the Department of Conservation about completing the surrender of the licence.

We are only open for this season, so if you have outstanding credits you will need to use them up.
These credits will disappear on the winding up of the club.A reminder that the member night rate is $30 and non members $50.

Permanent Residents

Jen returns from June 26th and will be occupying room 7. Also arriving the same weekend, is Alex who will be a permanent resident for the season.
Alex has been employed at Whakapapa as a ski instructor.
It is reassuring to have two people in residence, helping to make sure the Lodge runs smoothly.
